Bupa’s Millview Care Home in Barrhead and Norwood Care Home in East Renfrewshire has been awarded top marks for care by the people who know best – its own residents.
Millview Care Home was given the seal of approval when 100% of residents who responded to a survey rated the individual care they receive as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.
The results follow an annual independent survey of residents which has been running for 15 years. The survey provides those living in the home with an opportunity to comment and feedback on areas including quality of staffing, choice of food, activities within the home and the home’s environment including, residents’ rooms and communal areas.
Residents also praised Millview Care Home’s activities, with 100% of respondents rating the quality of activities organised by the home as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ and 100% of Norwood Care Home residents praising the quality of staffing and activities.
Will Clifford, Home Manager at Bupa’s Millview Care Home said:
“Our residents are the best judges of the care we provide and I’m delighted to see such a positive response from them.
“Ensuring our residents’ wellbeing is our absolute priority so knowing we’re making so many residents happy with the individual care we provide is extremely rewarding. This result is a tribute to our hard-working and committed people and the excellent care they provide every day.”
Bupa homes take pride in offering excellent standards of catering. Trained chefs create carefully planned menus to ensure residents eat nutritious, home-cooked meals that they enjoy.
Bupa has also recently launched a new helpline for people trying to find their way through the aged care system. Care experts are on hand seven days a week to provide free information and advice and act as a first port of call for anyone seeking help on the complex issue of aged care.
The helpline is available to anyone and can be contacted on 03339 206795 between 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 5pm, Saturday and Sunday.
