Edinburgh tenants face an average rent increase of 2.9%.
Two-bedroom and three-bedroom lets were the most significantly hit by the increase. Three-bedroom homes were up by 5% to a monthly rent of around £1028, and two-bedroom homes were up by 3.7%, which typically costs an average £720 a month.
It was cited in a recent report by Citylets that the average rent in Scotland is £664 a month, a 2.6% rise from the first quarter of 2011.
Dan Cookson, Citylets senior analyst said: “This quarter’s figures are reassuringly steady which has continues to cement confidence in the rental market.”
This coverage appeared in the Edinburgh Evening News and was secured as part of the ongoing PR campaign by the Holyrood PR on behalf of the Citylets.
