FAITH IN HUMANITY (Andrea)

This blog gives a story about a little girl who sends a letter to heaven with heartwarming results – it’s a touching reminder that there are decent, lovely people in this world, who through a simple gesture and taking time out of the day, cheered up a girl who had just lost her dog. Everybody now, awwwwww.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA – IN A FAR FROM FLATTERING MOMENT (Laura)

Whilst trying to steal a dinghy a pair of bungling thieves managed to reveal their identities to the world by exposing themselves in a rather un flattering manner on CCTV after trying to cut the camera off. Now the image of the young man looking ever so slightly worried has been revealed to the world after being picked up by national newspapers as well as appearing on Crime watch in a bid to catch the thieves. So take a good look at the shot and if it’s anyone you know why not give us a tweet….

COFFIN DODGERS ARE A THING OF THE PAST IN SOUTH KOREA (Pamela)

Over 90 people in South Korean have taken part in an experiment where they spent the night in coffins to help them better appreciate their lives.  Apparently the suicide rate there is one among the highest in the world.  One woman said that the experience made her realise that she loved her family and that it was too soon to be thinking about death.

IS THAT A HUSBAND IN YOUR SUITCASE, OR ARE YOU JUST PLEASED TO SEE ME? (Adrian)

You’ve got to love audacious prison escape attempts. Through the annals of history , there have been countless brave souls willing to put their body and mind through unspeakable torture in the name of freedom. But while some of these escapees get away with it, far more are foiled when word gets out about their crazy plans. Which is just what happened in Mexico this week.  Devoted wife Maria del Mar Arjona came up with the optimistic plan of smuggling her husband out of jail in a suitcase, which she intended to wheel right out of the prison gates. The only trouble with her scheme was that the case proved too heavy to manhandle, and when guards stopped her, they found her husband Edwin Valdemar Artiaga Perez inside wearing only his socks and pants.  Oops.

WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE…(Raymond)

With our obsession with media celebrity culture showing no signs of abating, here’s an interesting website that more than borrows from this fixation by pulling together a collection of tete-a-tetes images involving a whole host of stars and public figures. Heat would be so jealous. So if you’ve ever wondered what Alice Cooper and Salvador Dali look like together; or have a surge for nostalgia to see the day Roald Dahl and Ernest Hemingway meet in 1944, prepare to indulge.
