Fraser Suites lays on a homecoming for historic slice of Edinburgh’s past
THE RETURN of a 250-year-old relic newspaper to its original home helped create an entirely new set of headlines – this time for a boutique hotel.
New venue Fraser Suites Edinburgh wanted to mark the history of its city centre location, a former newspaper office, so sourced a centuries old copy of the paper to display in reception.
- Prime national coverage on both BBC and STV (check the video below to hear coverage on Good Morning Scotland)
- A heavyweight article in The Times, one of the world’s best-known newspapers
- Extensive coverage in the Evening News – the Scottish Capital’s most read news source
- Further exposure on Deadline News, one of the UK’s top 50- online news sites
- Combined broadcast, print and online reach creating a huge 37 million opportunities to see (OTS) the story.
Fraser Suites, which occupies the former site of The Edinburgh Courant newspaper offices and printing presses, tracked down the vintage edition from an American collector.
That copy has now returned to the St Giles Street venue and is proudly displayed in the reception area.
Securing coverage in a wide range of media titles boosted the awareness of Fraser Suites’ latest venture and highlighted the fact that they are committed to showcasing Edinburgh’s history in their historic venue – making an authentic and positive experience for visitors to the city.
