SCOTTISH WATER DIVES INTO THE MEDIA WITH STAR OLYMPIC ATHLETE
WHEN the most decorated British Olympian at a single games is on hand to front your media event, you have an opportunity to make waves.
Our client Scottish Water, through its Learn to Swim campaign with Scottish Swimming, aims to encourage both children and adults across Scotland to learn how to become safe and confident swimmers.
Our team drafted and pitched two media releases on the campaign; the first to highlight that Duncan Scott’s return from the Tokyo Olympics coincided with him reprising his role as Learn to swim ambassador for the fifth year, encouraging Scottish children to get in the pool.
The second was to create awareness that September was learn to swim month.
With the help of a planned media event, the two releases together created some impressive results across a breadth of media channels, with highlights including:
- 15 items of coverage across print, online, broadcast and social media
- 595,861 opportunities to see
- Featured in national, regional and business media
- STV News interview with Duncan Scott
- Radio Forth feature
- Highlights include The Sun, Edinburgh Evening News and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce
