Legal PR experts celebrate partner’s prestigious nomination
THE HEAD of one of Fife’s leading law firms has been nominated for a top honour in the 2005 Cuthbert Scottish Legal Awards – the legal profession’s equivalent of the “Oscars”.
Kyle Peddie, Chief Executive of The PSM Law Group, has been named in the shortlist of finalists for the prestigious Partner of the Year award.
Kyle has been credited with driving The PSM Law Group from a traditional practice in Dunfermline into one of the country’s most dynamic and forward thinking law firms. Latest annual accounts (to end April 2004) show group turnover was up by 65 per cent and over the last five years turnover has risen by an astounding 450 per cent. Much of the success can be attributed to Kyle’s vision in investing heavily in introducing new IT systems, particularly in the field of conveyancing.
Michael Maloco, a co-founding Partner, said the awards were designed to recognise excellence and outstanding achievement, two attributes that Kyle Peddie has in abundance.
He said: “Kyle has been my partner in the business for 16 years now and the success of our practice owes much to his vision and drive. At times building a business can seem a difficult uphill struggle and the terrain is often testing. Kyle has sure-footedly picked out a path for us and even with the summit in sight, I know he is a man of such drive he won’t stop there.
“To be nominated for this award is already a great achievement for Kyle, but I sincerely believe he has the all the rights credentials to convince the judging panel that he should win the Partner of the Year title.”
Kyle is facing competition from four other Partners for the title which will be announced at a ceremony in front of 700 lawyers at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on February 4.
Margo McDonald, MSP, chair of the judging panel, said the nominations for the ten categories in this year’s Awards give an unprecedented insight in the Scottish legal profession.
She added: “There is no doubt the quality of entries are improving every year and this testament to the high standard of the legal profession in Scotland.”
The PSM Law Group’s head office is in High Street, Dunfermline, but the group operates out of six offices with a workforce of 94.
