Scottish PR success Correction WebsiteTop Scottish PR firm The Holyrood PR has secured coverage on a website featuring specialist articles about the correctional industry over the cancellation of a talk to be given to Scots business leaders by Louisiana State Prison warden Burl Cain.

The American prison boss was due to address members of the Winning Entrepreneurs networking club in Edinburgh, but organisers were forced to cancel the talk after receiving a series of “aggressive” calls.

Winning Entrepreneurs, who are represented by Scottish PR experts the Holyrood PR, revealed that objections to the talk were based on the treatment of the Angola 3 – three black prisoners linked to the murder of a white prison guard in 1972 and kept in solitary confinement for, in two of the cases, 36 years prisoners under Cain’s stewardship of the jail.

Founder of Winning Entrepreneurs, Belinda Roberts, said: “We’re very disappointed that this event has had to be cancelled – especially as Warden Cain was speaking about leadership, not the US penal system. However, we have to put the safety of the warden, our members and the hotel staff ahead of any other concerns.”
