Citylets hit Trade Press thanks to PR Scotland

A RECOGNISED rental portal has hit headlines thanks to PR Scotland as it revealed a strong steady rental market in Scotland after publishing its latest report into the sector.

Citylets, which is responsible for the only detailed report in to the private rental sector in Scotland, confirmed that there has been a steady increase in rents across most of the countries key cities for quarter one of 2012.

As Scotland’s rental market continues to be flat this comes as good news for the rental sector showing that while renting is increasing in popularity rents are not becoming more affordable.

Dan Cookson, Senior Analyst at Citylets said: ” It is welcome news that while the rental market is continuing to expand rapidly in Scotland that on the whole the market appears to meeting demand which is why increases in rent continue to be relatively modest.

“This quarter’s figures are reassuringly steady which has continued to cement the confidence in the rental market. The key thing is that the market is steadily expanding at a time when the housing sales are in recovery mode.”

The latest data report from lettings portal Citylets has shown that the average rent in Scotland stands at £664, a 2.6% rise compared with the first quarter of 2011.
