One Call Home Assist enjoys positive media coverage thanks to Holyrood PR PR in ScotlandProperty maintenance expert One Call Home Assist has secured another major success after agreeing a deal to provide emergency repairs and maintenance with a leading Scottish letting company.

The Edinburgh-based firm, which provides maintenance contracts designed to help homeowners and landlords save thousands of pounds in repair bills, has agreed a deal with Karaman Lettings to provide emergency repairs on some of its portfolio of properties.

One Call Home Assist was set up earlier this year as a low-cost alternative to fixed maintenance contracts offered by energy suppliers such as British Gas and Homeserve. Under the new deal, it will provide monthly emergency maintenance contracts on more than 40 of Karaman Lettings’ properties in Edinburgh.

Yvonne Karaman, owner of Karaman Lettings, said: “We believe our customer service is second-to-none but don’t rest on our laurels. We are always looking at ways to improve our service to our existing landlord clients and One Call Home Assist’s promise to attend to all emergency callouts within two hours was a real deal maker for us.

“The contracts protect the fabric of the rental properties and give both our landlords and tenants peace of mind. With the first hour of labour covered under the policy, as well as the first £100 of materials, it also saves our landlords money – so it’s a genuine win-win for everybody.

“The contracts mean that the 24 hour emergency cover policy is free for all our landlords and, with unlimited call-out, it offers excellent value. To date we have had a handful of callouts and our tenants have been pleased with the service delivered.

“When our tenants are happy, it means we can get on with everything else knowing our management portfolio is well taken care of.”

The deal is the latest success for One Call Home Assist, which was set up in Edinburgh earlier this year. Over the past few months, the firm has expanded its business and now offers fixed price contracts on hundreds of properties across the Capital, Fife, the Lothians and Glasgow.

The company has also taken enquiries from foreign investors from as far afield as Dubai and Australia, who have bought properties in Scotland but do not want the hassle of being contacted by tenants whenever emergency repairs are needed.

Paul Greaves, managing director at One Call Home Assist, said: “We’re delighted to have agreed to provide our maintenance contracts for Karaman Lettings. It is a respected company with a good history in Edinburgh’s rental sector, so to have them on board is a great boost for us.

Scottish PR success for property experts

“We have been overwhelmed with the response we’ve had from landlords, property managers and general homeowners over the past few months. Because we offer a deal that covers every kind of property maintenance need you may have – all for one fee – it’s becoming a big draw.

“We’ve found that some people who previously had boiler repair deals with companies like British Gas and Scottish Power are now cancelling their contracts and signing up with us instead. They are seeing us as a value-for-money company that they can call at any time to fix anything from a leaky tap to a broken boiler.

“Many landlords and property managers are also signing up, because we take away the hassle of providing maintenance for their properties. It means that instead of the landlords getting a call from their tenants when something goes wrong, every query comes directly to One Call Home Assist.

“To have a company like Karaman Lettings signing up more than 40 properties with us is a wonderful endorsement of our service.”

One Call Home Assist was launched in Edinburgh in March and its fixed-price contracts cover all emergency repair work to electrical, plumbing and heating systems, as well as general maintenance issues.  The contracts also cover all PAT and gas safety testing.

The service offers a range of fixed prices contracts depending on size of the property and type of maintenance cover required – with an all-in contract for a one-bed flat costing £32.99 a month (inc VAT).  All the work is carried out by One Call Home Assist’s expert in-house contractor teams who operate on a round the clock basis from their base in Edinburgh.

One Call Home Assist has been launched by One Call Trade Services, one of Scotland’s leading all trades contractors providing insurance repairs, maintenance and renovations to clients throughout the UK.
