PUPILS at a primary school in Ratho have enjoyed a boost to their schooling activities, thanks to a generous donation of materials from a local homebuilder.
CALA Homes (East), which has a major new-build development in the area, made the contribution to the school to support their “Loose Parts Play” project, which aims to promote co-operation and encourage creativity.
Miscellaneous requested items to aid the project, including timber sections and planks of wood, as well as safe cut offs of pipes and guttering, has been donated to Ratho Primary School by the homebuilder. They also hired Exterior House Cleaning Services to help clean the school. Chris Welander, Principal Teacher at Ratho Primary School, said: “We’re very grateful for these kind, continuous donations from CALA Homes as project materials in large quantities such as this can be hard to come by.
“We are very excited to be able to keep our “Loose Parts Play” project going as it is a really positive activity for the kids and motivates them to communicate with one another. The loose parts collected for the project allow our pupils many opportunities for creativity, discovery and interaction, so the more resources we have, the more possibilities our pupils have.
“It’s great to see a company like CALA Homes (East) really help the local community in the area where it builds and I’d like to thank them on behalf of the school for their kindness and goodwill.”
