Local Pupils Help CALA Homes Plant Bulbs For Marie Curie

Cala Homes Press releases

CHILDREN from Ratho Primary School have planted daffodil bulbs at CALA Homes’ local Craigpark development, near Edinburgh as part of a national campaign in support of Marie Curie.

The upmarket housebuilder has pledged to donate £1 to the charity for every bulb planted at one of its developments across the country throughout December

Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (East) commented: “We thought involving the local school in creating a floral display at Craigpark would be a visual way to support Marie Curie that would also benefit local residents, while raising money for the charity at the same time.

“We’re very grateful to the children and teachers at Ratho Primary School who gave their time and efforts to help us with the planting. The daffodils will bloom in spring, and have been planted to coincide with Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal in March, when we will be holding further fundraising events at the development.”

Marie Curie is the leading charity providing care to people with any terminal illness in their own homes or in one of the charity’s nine hospices.  It has almost 2,100 nurses, who work in the community to provide free end of life care to 94% of the UK population.

Gillian Brown, Primary One Teacher at Ratho Primary School, said: “We were delighted to take part in this project to help raise funds for Marie Curie. As well as supporting a very worthwhile charity the children had lots of fun planting the bulbs and they are all looking forward to coming back to the development next spring to see the result of their hard work.”

CALA’s newest Ratho development, Craigpark, offers a beautiful semi-rural, family setting with stunning views, not far from Edinburgh. It features a luxury selection of four and five bedroom detached family homes from CALA’s Signature Range, which have CALA’s 100% Part Exchange Service available.

Craigpark’s show village, comprising 3 showhomes at the development, is open daily from 11am – 5.30pm. More information is available on 0131 341 2724 or by visiting https://www.cala.co.uk/homes-for-sale/east-of-scotland/craigpark
