THE NEXT collection of apartments at a landmark development in Dunfermline has launched to market, including a rare one-bedroom apartment with a private balcony.

Spanning the first, second and third floors of “The Depot” at the celebrated The Linen Quarter, the five new properties range from 823sq ft to -1,093 sq ft one and two-bedroom apartments.

The Depot comprises the new build element of a wider refurbishment of the former Grade-A listed Duracord factory, Pilmuir Works, one of Dunfermline’s most notable landmarks.

Each apartment has been individually designed by renowned Edinburgh JM Architects, who also oversaw the refurbishment of the 27 apartments at The Damask, the renovated element of the development.

Caroline Reilly, working with Byzantian, the heritage developer behind the project, said: “This collection of apartments represents a great opportunity for young professionals, downsizers, and in particular first time buyers to take their first steps onto the property ladder.

“While the apartments are ultra-modern, stylish, they also retain the Italian heritage of the development which gives them a sense of character you wouldn’t find in typical new build homes.”

With prices ranging from £174,000 – £215,000, each apartment comes with its own features and benefits, depending on the size and style of the property.

Plot 4, the one-bedroom apartment with a private balcony, is available for £177,500, and features a stylish open-plan kitchen and lounge area, with a separate space for dining. South-facing, it offers buyers views of the town and out towards the countryside.

All of the homes at The Depot come with Bosch appliances as standard, gigabit internet via Virgin fibre, and Roca Sanitaryware throughout bathrooms and en-suites.

Each apartment will be heated by renewables, courtesy of the Dunfermline district heating system which uses heat from landfill and is full controllable through an online connected smart thermostat.

The four other homes included in this release are all two bedroom properties with ensuites, ranging from 948 sq ft. to an impressive 1,093 sq. ft.

Properties priced at less than £200,000 at The Depot qualify for the Scottish Government’s Help to Buy scheme, and means buyers can also benefit from the LBTT holiday until March this year. Some properties are also available to buy with the First Home Fund.

The Linen Quarter, which launched to market in February 2020 is creating Dunfermline’s premium residential accommodation. Its mix of new build (The Depot) and refurbishment (The Damask) apartments gives buyers a choice between contemporary design and architectural restoration.

In addition, commercial units on Pilmuir Street will ensure a thriving community is created, bringing buzz to a famed location that stood in a state of disrepair.
