Property PR experts help tell property agent’s record-breaking speed sale

FIFE’S property market has had its clearest sign yet that it is rapidly catching up on its neighbour across the Forth.

Staff at Hunters-psm, Fife’s leading solicitors and estate agents, were stunned when a three-bedroomed property in Dunfermline sold within three hours of the “for sale” sign being put up.  In fact, the house was snapped up so quickly that the particulars for the property at Priorwood Drive had not even had been printed.

The property is situated in one of the most popular and sought-after areas of Dunfermline.

Lorna Stirling, senior sales negotiator for Hunters-psm, part of the PSM Law Group, said other properties in the area have sold rapidly but not in as record-breaking time.

She said: “Enquiries in this area will always be very popular.  The potential purchasers had enquired previously on a property in this area and we had been advising them of activity in the market.  When this property came on to the market, they promptly made a verbal offer which was accepted.  In fact, it sold so quickly that we did not even have the schedules made up.

“The vendor was very impressed, in fact delighted as he already has a house elsewhere so he will be looking forward to moving in within no time.”

Sought after properties in Fife are on the increase with Dunfermline being named as one of Scotland’s up-and-coming hot spots.  With prices in Edinburgh expanding people are buying properties in Fife as it can offer more for their money.

Lorna added: “The property market is doing very well at the moment.  Usually the market slows down before Christmas but we continue to find ourselves  very busy.

“Last year we were generally achieving approximately 10 per cent over our asking price but recently we have been achieving 10 to 25 per cent over.  Sales occasionally taking less than two weeks but generally can be between two to three weeks.”
