Quirky cottage owned by Hollywood Star hits the headlines with help from Property PR experts

THE OWNER of a one-of-a-kind cottage in the middle of Edinburgh and world-renowned voice coach reached new heights in the media thanks to property PR experts.
Selling agents, Simpson & Marwick helped international voice coach and actress, Jo Cameron Brown, sell her cottage name ‘The Signal House’, located in Edinburgh’s West Port.
Our property PR team shared the story with the media and knocked up the following hits:
- 10 items of coverage
- 859,737 opportunities to see
- National feature in The Scotsman
- Regional coverage in Edinburgh Evening News (print and online) and The Edinburgh Reporter
- Social coverage in Edinburgh Evening News Facebook and Twitter reaching more than 400,000 people
This coverage showed potential buyers and sellers the vast array of properties Simpson & Marwick have on the market, as well as how amazing the property industry is in Edinburgh – with nearly every home having a story and somethings even a nod to a celebrity!
The coverage generated reached Simpson & Marwick’s prime audience in Edinburgh from the extensive features in Edinburgh Evening News and The Scotsman, sharing its messages and work with people potentially looking to buy or sell a home.
The coverage was also a big win for our team, as it is possibly the first time Holyrood PR have generated coverage for a property after it has already sold solely due to the interesting owner behind it.
We advised the client that The Signal House would preform better if it was split into two separate release – one about the property and one about the seller. This approach paid off with a host of national, regional and specialist coverage for both releases.
You can read the first release here and the second release here.
