Holyrood PR TV Episode 106
Wednesday, February 26th, 2014
on behalf of Banks Group
It’s been another busy week at Holyrood PR as we’ve been telling the people of Perth how renewable energy plans are set to enrich wildlife, launching an appeal for capital curry crusaders and discovering why Hakuna Matata has been music to the ears of Edinburgh hotels.
First up, waders, woodland and other wildlife are set to benefit from a series of ecological improvements if plans for a wind farm are approved. Wind energy specialists Banks Renewables has laid out detailed enhancements which would be carried out if its Bandirran wind farm located near Balbeggie goes ahead.
From flourishing wildflowers and woodlands to a dedicated conservation area for curlew, independent experts Heritage Environmental have praised Banks for its commitment to habitat management. News of the widespread benefits was picked up by The Courier, Renewable Energy News Online, All Energy News Online and Energy and Environment Management.
Next up, Scotland’s first Indian restaurant is on the hunt to track down some of the first customers who first stepped through its doors nearly 70 years ago. The nod of nostalgia celebrates a very special milestone in Khushi’s history – the 80th birthday of co-founder Hamida Khushi.
Curry lovers who can prove that they were among the first in the country to sample Khushi’s Indian delights back in 1947 will be invited to join in the birthday celebrations and enjoy a complimentary meal. News of the story has been picked up by Edinburgh Evening News and Edinburgh 247.
And finally, it seems the Lion King has been the mane event in Edinburgh this winter as hoteliers in the capital record their busiest ever Januarys.
What is typically recognised as a sluggish month by all in the hospitality industry has been completely transformed, thanks to the broadway musical that made rest at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
City-centre based hotel, The inn on the Mile , recorded a 35% increase in occupancy rates while sister hotels The Murrayfield, The Grassmarket and STAY Central all witnessed similar trends. The story was picked up by Edinburgh Now and Edinburgh Evening News.
