Miguel Montelongo has featured in the Peoria Journal Star after his appearance in the U.S. Kids Golf European Championships which took place over five courses in East Lothian on May 26-29.
The nine-year old from Holy Family was reported to have had trouble adjusting to the weather and playing conditions of links golf and finished 33rd out of 40 in his age group.
The tournament is recognised as one of the best golf events for kids, attracting more than 430 competitors from 34 countries.
Miguel’s father, Jim, said the event was the most challenging weather and course conditions his son had experienced.
