A milestone moment for Eagle Couriers employee as she travails the Queensferry Crossing
Alana Jamieson, an Accounts Administrator at Bathgate based Eagle Couriers, was one of the lucky 50,000 selected to walk the 1.7 mile distance across the newly opened Queensferry Crossing.
Alana’s mum, Tracy, and brother Kyle, also managed to secure themselves a ticket and the trio de-cided to use the walk to raise money for SANDS Lothians, a charity which offers support to be-reaved parents.
Ensuring everyone could wish Alana luck and know of her charitable effort. We reached out to some key media titles and achieved key coverage including:
- Key regional coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News
- Online coverage including the video on The Edinburgh Reporter
Alana and her family were not aware they had won the golden tickets until Alana’s dad, who had entered the whole family apart from himself, informed them of the good news.
Supporting her fundraising efforts, Alana’s employer Eagle Couriers pledged £130 and we helped ensure that they could provide her with a GoPro Hero4 camera to capture the memorable event.
The below video captures Alana’s rare experience crossing the stunning new bridge, which is now only open to vehicles:
SANDS Lothians offers emotional and practical support to bereaved parents and their families who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or whose baby dies soon after birth.
If you would like to support Alana and her family, donations are still being collected through their just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stark01
