PR for Movie Stars and Movie Screens

This week at Holyrood PR we’ve been busy helping a rising movie star hit the headlines, marking the arrival of the first IMAX screen outside of the central belt and warning businesses about cyber criminals looking to hack into their supply chain.

First up, our latest client, Hollywood starlet Louise Linton has been making headlines with news of her latest movie role in comedy, Serial Daters Anonymous. We’ve been telling the story of the rising Edinburgh-born star who moved to Hollywood eight years ago landing a starring role opposite House of Cards and Gossip Girl heartthrob, Sam Page.Louise plays a fashion columnist who jilts her cheating fiancé at the altar, before going on a series of retaliatory blind dates which see her dubbed a “dating vigilante”.

News of the new movie role, which is set to be her biggest hit to date, was picked up by the Daily Record, the Metro, Deadline News and secured a page lead in the Edinburgh Evening News.

Now from movie stars to the big screen itself, our client G1 has launched the first IMAX screen outside of Scotland’s central belt. Perth Playhouse is now home to the state-of-the-art IMAX screen- 60%+ larger than the cinema’s previous screen, creating a mecca for cinema-goers in the region. Transformers 4, the biggest US blockbuster to date, kicked off the launch, welcoming hundreds of film fans to enjoy some of the world’s sharpest visual and sound technology.

As part of the PR campaign, we helped create a catalogue of stories ahead of the launch generating a great buzz in the area and gaining extensive coverage in local publications including the Perthshire Advertiser, the Courier as well as national hits in the Daily Record and the BBC.

And finally, we’ve been helping our client, the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, warn businesses about the crippling dangers of cyber criminals hacking into the supply chain. We told the story of how 4/5 UK businesses have experienced security breaches already in 2014, which can lead to major issues for any customer using its services as part of the supply chain.

Hackers can steal vital information bringing a business to its knees with the click of a mouse, costing thousands of pounds to businesses across the UK.

Our story about this stark warning reached national titles the Daily Record and The Scotsman as well as the business section of the BBC.
