Gullane gleeful as active travel route upgraded
A MAJOR homebuilder caused joy in the local community when it built more than 600 metres of pathway to improve active travel routes across East Lothian.
As part of its Saltcoats Grange development, Cala Homes (East) prioritised the completion of the footpath that runs adjacent to a busy road between Gullane and West Fenton.
As a result, the pathway provided an improved active travel route, making for a healthier and happier community. The story of Cala Homes (East) prioritising the path work grabbed the headlines in national, local and trade press.

Although this marked a whopping 600 metres of built pathway already, Cala has committed to extending the path to 1200 metres. This means that Cala’s Gullane developments have helped fund major infrastructure improvements, with more than £3.3million in Section 75 payments paid to date and the total figure set to exceed £5.4million.
