The restaurant on Leith Walk has long been praised for its delicious log-oven cooked pizzas. And now the AA has recognised La Favorita’s distinctive culinary success by awarding the restaurant one AA Rosette.
Granting the restaurant one rosette distinguishes La Favorita as being an excellent local eatery, according to the AA’s judges.
The Herald newspaper recognised this praise, running the headline: “Capital pizza place wins upper crust food award”.
The article quoted restaurant owner Tony Crolla’s delight at winning the award, and noted that the Rosette came just months after La Favorita won the 2008 Pizza Restaurant of the Year at the Pizza Pasta and Italian Food Association Awards.
The article also noted that the AA Rosette prize had previously reserved for such high-end eateries as Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck.
The positive press coverage from the Herald came thanks to a successful PR campaign by Edinburgh public relations agency Holyrood PR, which offers excellent PR in Scotland.
