The Edinburgh Evening News made sure a Leith eatery grabbed a pizza the action by reporting on a recent award. The article told how La Favorita was the first pizzeria in Scotland to scoop a coveted AA Rosette.
The newspaper reported that the restaurant on Leith Walk had wooed judges with the fresh ingredients used to make their log-fired pizzas, running with the headline: “Any way you slice it, we’re the best pizza parlour in Scotland”.
Restaurant owner, Tony Crolla, explained how an award dish had arrived through the post with a letter telling how a mystery judge had enjoyed their meal at his restaurant.
Tony also served up an extra treat for readers by providing a recipe for the the pizzeria’s trademark La Favorita pizza.
Tony showed his top chefs never scrimped on ingredients for the winning dish which includes such delicacies as fresh smoked salmon and beluga caviar.
