Panton McLeod, the UK’s leading water quality engineering specialist, is celebrating a renewal of its contract to continue cleaning underground tanks and reservoirs for Severn Trent Water.

The Nottingham-based company was awarded a five-year contract in 2007, although the deal is reviewed and appraised annually to ensure Panton McLeod carries out its cleaning obligations to the highest standards.

And, following a successful year, Severn Trent has decided to reward the company’s hard work by approving their contract for the next 12 months.

Paul Henderson, Panton McLeod’s operations director, said: “Although we were awarded a five-year contract

with Severn Trent last year, we cannot rest on our laurels, as our work is reviewed every year.

“It’s a good way to ensure that we strive for the best results and continue to implement the highest-possible standards when carrying out our specialist work.

“This is one of our major UK contracts, so we are delighted to have had our work approved once again by Severn Trent. We have been providing specialist cleaning services for them over many years and we will strive to continue this high standard of work.”

The company currently provides routine cleaning and disinfection for Severn Trent’s network of service reservoirs – huge underground water tanks that are connected to tens of thousands of households across the region.

They also carry out minor repair work and carry out inspections of the water tanks using their remotely-controlled submarine equipment, and are on standby to respond to emergency contamination of the region’s water supply.

The renewal of the Severn Trent contract is the latest in a series of successes for Panton McLeod, which has included a number of innovative underwater inspections for some of the UK’s biggest water companies using patented mini-submarines.

The company has also announced the launch of a new division in the United States, Panton McLeod Americas, which it hopes will help revolutionise the way water facilities are cleaned throughout the North American continent.

The US office in Denver, Colorado, is the third regional office for Panton McLeod, which currently has bases in Nottingham and the Scottish Borders.
