Scotland's first double-decker seating restaurant launches in St James Quarter, Edinburgh

WE ARE living in the age of visual communications – the smartest businesses realise that and know they have to embrace the visual age in order to thrive.

Pictures and videos have never been more widely shot, shared, and talked about. Which means it has never been more important for businesses to be in on the act.

When innovative new eatery Thai Express Kitchen was planning its showpiece launch, bosses knew it was vital to ensure restaurant’s bold and colourful design was properly captured and represented across the media.

So we worked with them to deliver visual communication which included:

  • A colourful and eye-catching series of pre-launch images, carefully considered to cut through on social media channels
  • High-impact memes designed to be eminently shareable by discerning foodies online
  • Professional launch night photography, to capture the style and ambience of the setting – and its delicious food

Those images had the desired effect – ensuring Thai Express Kitchen made a colourful splash in the print media, acrpss online news outlets and also on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

All of which ensured the stylish new venue made just the right impression with its target audience – from foodie influencers and adventurous young diners looking for the latest trends, to city centre workers looking for somewhere to transform a takeaway lunch.

While Thai Express is already a global success story with 350 outlets around the world, all of its outlets to date have been quick serve restaurants offering takeaway food in eye catching boxes.

However, Thai Express Kitchen is a completely new concept for the chain, as its first venue offering restaurant dining – and the first to serve alcohol. The operators behind the new Kitchen concept even had to win special permission from the chain’s Canadian HQ for the innovative new outlet.

All of which It was vital the media launch matched  the visual panache of the venue itself, set in the long-awaited and widely-feted new St James Quarter in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Among the highlights of the visual storytelling success, was when a wide range of the images featured in a cleverly cut video focusing on the launch, by the city’s influential Edinburgh Live news site, below:
