A GLASGOW CARE HOME brought panto to its own front room this summer to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, by setting up an exclusive entertaining performance for residents.

Bupa’s Eastbank care home in Shettleston invited local professional entertainment company Rovin Productions to bring the show in-house, giving residents, family and friends a front row experience in the comfort of their own armchair.

The communal living room area at the care home was transformed into a mini theatre, where accomplished actors Sian Ross and Stephen Vincent of Rovin performed a unique re-telling of ‘60 years of the Royal Variety.’

Elizabeth Monaghan, Activity Coordinator at Eastbank care home, said: “We were delighted to welcome Sian and Stephen into the home to help us celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and it definitely went down a storm with everyone here.Entertainer at Eastbank Care Home

“This is the second time Rovin productions have performed for us. Last year, they came in to do a Christmas panto for the residents and it was so entertaining, we just had to have them back again.

“At Bupa, we strive to create innovative and inspiring activities to provide the best quality of life for our residents and this is just another example of how we aim to do this.”

Sian and Stephan of Rovin productions, who specialise in care sector entertainment, provide top quality singing and hilarious comedy at parties and corporate functions. They have entertained the likes of Dukes and Duchesses, Lords and Ladies, the Military and major corporations.
