Edinburgh bar duo gain amazing PR Scotland for new Hyde Out in Fountainbridge.
University graduates Rory McWhirter and Rowan Milne are wowing crowds and tempting food and drink lovers away from George Street with new up scale bar Hyde Out at Edinburgh’s Fountainbridge.
The pair worked closely with design house KBA+D, and along with senior associate designer Kakay Li have created a quirky, luxurious space at a cost of over £1 million.
The space includes bespoke graphics and an impressive mix of elegant furniture and lighting including a hand crafted chandelier with 600 crystal cut glasses by lighting designer John Harrington. The interior has been custom designed and beautifully put together to create a venue unlike any other in Edinburgh.
Kakay describes the venue as young and funky in the article and added: “weve really gone to town with that in the designs, which reflect the vibrancy and colour of the younger crowd the bar is seeking to attract”.
Serving an impressive menu of nibbles and sharing platters by Plenish as well as chocolates by the Highland chocolatier Iain Burnett, along side cocktails specifically designed by award-winning mixologist Ian McPherson, Hyde Out aims to bring ‘quirky luxury’ to the Edinburgh bar scene.
General Manager Rowan expressed her excitement in an interview with The Bar magazine: “we want Hyde Out to be the best bar in Edinburgh” and “firmly believe it will be” because of its design and choice of offerings. There’s a risk involved putting such a bar away from the expected locations like George Street, but Rowan also added: “this part of the city is crying out for an adventurous venue like ours”.
