Inn on the Mile Sleeping A bar and hotel on one of the most famous streets in the world, has been given a new lease of life offering boutique rooms and some of Scotland finest food and drink.

The Inn on the Mile, formerly the Bank Hotel, has just undergone an extensive 5 week refurbishment transforming the hotel into a vibrant pub with nine stunning boutique bedrooms upstairs, bringing something completely new to the Royal Mile.

And staff are pleased to note that despite only reopening this month its rooms are already fully booked right through until September.

The hotel and bar has a real emphasis on top quality pub food and entertainment which accompanies its extensive drink list of traditional whiskies, ales and craft beers.

Not Just Good Food and Drink

As well as the food and drink menu inspired by local Scottish produce, the venue will host live acoustic music throughout the week adding to the already great buzz on the capital’s most famous street.

Jamie Carruthers, General Manager of the Inn on the Mile, said: “There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the opening of the Inn on the Mile and I don’t think anyone will be disappointed.

“Being bang in the middle of the Royal Mile is the perfect location as it adds to the electric atmosphere we have had since we opened.

“We’re already fully booked up for the next six weeks which is just fantastic and it’s great for our hotel guests to have a buzzing pub to sit in and soak up the atmosphere in the heart of the city.

“We also have a wide range of events taking place, with a big focus on live music, whisky tasting and focusing on serving delicious homemade pub food, which we’re really excited about.”

Created by acclaimed designer, Jim Hamilton, (Corinthian Club Glasgow, Grassmarket Hotel, Edinburgh) the rooms have been aptly named the Mile and the Royal Mile bedrooms, which have beautiful free-standing baths.

Each room includes iPod docks to listen to your favourite songs, a large flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi and GHD hair straighteners to protect your tresses from the sometimes harsh Scottish winds.

But it is not just the interiors that will get customers talking; the Inn of the Mile has an extensive list of drinks allowing customers to sample flights of fine wines or beer as well as indulging in some of the finest liquids in the world with whisky flights tailored to individual tastes from all regions across Scotland.

Scottish ales including the Flying Scotsman, Innis and Gunn and Brewdog are also on tap ready for thirsty punters to come and taste a part of Scotland’s finest offerings.

A Whisky Lover’s Dream

 The Inn on the Mile is also the only venue on the mile of have one of only 60 bottles of Odyssey in the world, the newest whisky blend from Johnny Walker, costing £45 per dram.

Jamie Caruthers added: “Our food and drink really is our pride and joy and we can’t wait for everyone to come and taste what we have to offer, our drinks list has been expertly put together and is something to be proud of’.

To celebrate the opening of the Inn of the Mile, customers have the chance to win a real whisky flight of their own.
