Bell Ingram Press releases

Bell Ingram’s Sporting Lets offered visitors the chance to win an exclusive oil painting by shoot host and gamekeeper John Cruikshanks at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair at Scone and The Highland Field Sports Fair at Moy.

The Perth based firm has now announced the winner, fellow gamekeeper Iain MacDonald, who works on the Ben Alder Estate in Dalwhinnie.

John Cruikshanks splits his time between his passion for oil painting and running a professional shoot on Scone Palace Estate, offering  pheasant and partridge shooting on the Berryhills Beat –  part of the world famous Lord Mansfield Estate.

Charlotte Gilfillan of Bell Ingram Sporting Lets, who lets shooting on behalf of John said: “Despite the poor weather at The Scone Game Fair, we still received a substantial number of entries and a fantastic response was received at The Highland Sports Fair in Moy too.

“These events are very important for us as they are a great opportunity to showcase some of the excellent sport we have to offer and it seemed the perfect setting to champion John’s talents.

Using his photography skills and taking inspiration from the great outdoors, John Cruikshanks has been painting for the past ten years creating a series of outdoor hill scenes and pet portraits for the avid pet lover.

John said: “I’ve always loved being in the outdoors which is evident through my choice to become a Gamekeeper but it has also given me the inspiration to follow my passion for oil painting-a perfect match.

“Charlotte approached me about using one of my paintings for a competition which I thought was a fantastic idea so I decided to create a piece exclusively for Bell Ingram Sporting Lets and I’m glad it has found a happy home with Iain.”

Bell Ingram has been offering fishing, shooting and stalking on some of Scotland’s finest estates for over a hundred years.  The firm has earned an excellent reputation amongst clients and taken great care to build lasting relationships with owners, gamekeepers, ghillies and buyers of sport.
