Racecourse celebrates sell out success after impressive hospitality PR coverage

MRC Edinburgh PR Team Coverage

ONE OF the UK’s most stylish race venues, Musselburgh Racecourse, achieved fantastic coverage for its popular New Years Day race meeting to kick off 2017.

The annual fixture was a sell out success for the first time since launching the race day in 2011. Attendees raced through the gates of the five star attraction to enjoy six thrilling National Hunt races, heated bar marquees, hearty street food and a fantastic party atmosphere to continue the festive celebrations

A seasonal twist to the afternoon was the chance to soak in the atmosphere of one of the most historic athletic events in the world, the 148th New Year Sprint, which last year saw the first ever female winner. The race attracts athletes from across the country to compete for the £4000 prize money.

Coverage started to build quickly including:

  • Two separate article in the Scottish Daily Mail across the festive period. Each article in this national title reached at leastf 82,400 people
  • Coverage in vital local title, the Edinburgh Evening News
  • More targeted coverage thanks to an article in the Edinburgh Reporter
  • Headlines in important Scotland-wide title, The National
  • Positive highlights in the Border Telegraph
  • A combined audience reach of 2,678,033

By making ripples across national, regional and local press, as well as a variety of different news outlets reaching diverse sectors, our expert hospitality PR team ensured the widest possible sharing of Musselburgh Racecourse’s important key messages.

The five star VisitScotland venue aims to encourage people to visit the racecourse, educate them on professional horse racing and provide fun days out for keen racing enthusiasts.

Musselburgh Racecourse  is firmly established as one of the UK’s most stylish racecourses, hosting 28 Flat and Jump meetings each year, including the hugely popular Stobo Castle Ladies Day and is popular with both families and corporate clients.

Events like the Totepool New Year’s Day Race Meeting and the Scottish Cheltenham Trials in February are helping it attract a more diverse audience.
