EDINBURGH’S RACECOURSE CELEBRATES SELL OUT SUCCESS AFTER IMPRESSIVE COVERAGE
ONE of the UK’s most stylish racecourse’s, Musselburgh Racecourse achieved fantastic coverage for its popular New Years Day race meeting for the second year running.
The annual fixture kick started 2017 with a sell out success for the first time since launching the raceday in 2011. Attendees raced through the doors to a day full of five star attractions including six thrilling National Hunt races, heated bar marquees, hearty street food and a fantastic party atmosphere to continue to festive celebrations
A seasonal twist to the afternoon is the chance to soak in the atmosphere of one of the most historic athletic events in the world, the 148th New Year Sprint, which last year saw the first ever female winner. The race attracts athletes from across the country to compete for the £4000 prize money.
Coverage started to build quickly after securing two spaces in the Scottish Daily Mail across the festive period. This national title alone has a reach of 82,400 making the circulation a grand total of 164,800 from just the first two hits.
Key titles such as the Edinburgh Evening News, The National, the Edinburgh Reporter and Border Telegraph also featured the release giving a huge combined audience of 2,678,033 for the New Years Day raceday.
By making ripples across national, regional and local press, as well as a variety of different news outlets reaching diverse sectors, our expert Edinburgh PR team ensured the wide sharing of Musselburgh Racecourse’s positive ethos – which aims to encourage people to visit the racecourse, educate them on professional horse racing and provide fun days out for keen racing enthusiasts.
The 5 star VisitScotland venue is popular with racing enthusiasts and is also firmly established with both families and corporate clients.
Events like the Totepool New Year’s Day Race Meeting and the Scottish Cheltenham Trials in February are helping it attract a more diverse audience.
