on behalf of Warners Solicitors and Estate Agents
Scottish Legal News, a specialist news service read by Scotland’s leading lawyers and solicitors, has published the reaction from Warners to the recent Budget.
Estate agency partner Scott Brown argued that the decision by Chancellor Alistair Darling to extend the Stamp Duty holiay by an extra three months was not enough, and added that he would have preferred to see a longer extension.
Scott also argued that Stamp Duty should also have been frozen on all properties up to £250k, which would have helped encourage more people to make their next step along the property ladder.
His comments were featured in Scottish Legal News alongside a similarly negative response from fellow legal firm Morton Fraser.
