The 2009 U.S. Kids Golf European Championships has enjoyed more positive headlines after the Kilmarnock Standard featured young Ayrshire golfer Murray McCrone as he bids for championship glory in East Lothian.
The 10-year-old will be up against more than 400 golfers from 38 countries worldwide in the prestigious competition, which has enjoyed fantastic media coverage thanks to a press campaign by Holyrood PR.
McCrone will also be hoping to finish high enough in the field to earn himself a place in the 2009 U.S. Kids Golf World Championships at Pinehurst, North Carolina in August.
The Standard told how McCrone will join two other Ayrshire golfers, Hazel Macgarvie and Campbell Mathieson, in playing five of East Lothian’s most historic links courses this month.
