WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MEMBERS OF AN AWARD WINNING PR AGENCY

Scottish PR agency member Melissa Craib.

LAST week you were introduced to our Account Executive, Alie Simpson. This week attention turns to myself the newbie in the office, Melissa Craib. I will be working across the range of clients Holyrood PR have.

I studied Public Relations and Media at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh (I got a 2:1 YAY!). This is my first job working in the PR industry so I’m getting to put my degree to use. Though I have had previous experience in this very office earlier this year with my internship and I’m excited to be back in this award winning PR agency.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?

Getting all the new experiences and working across a range of clients. This means I get to help work on different stories every day.

Q. What do you enjoy most when you’re not in the office?

Probably just relaxing or spending time with my friends. Both tend to involve eating or drinking.

Q. Tell us something not many people know about you.

About 6/7 years ago when I was a bit silly my friend, Danielle, and I went all the way to Bristol to go to the Skins open audition and we spent half the day in the queue. You can guess from my not so fruitful acting career I did not make the cut.

Q. What would you define as the highlight of your career so far?

I’ve only been here a short time, so right now it would be getting the job. But hoping for something much more exciting to be the highlight soon. Watch this space.

Q. If you were able to read one newspaper for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I know it is not a newspaper but if I can only read one news source it would probably be Vice.  I think that would be the most interesting and entertaining.

Q. When the office tea-round comes around, what is your drink of choice?

Coffee – lot’s of sugar, lot’s of milk. The unhealthier the better really.

Q. And outside of work?

Dark rum and ginger beer. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it.

Q. You have one superpower, which superpower do you have, and how do you use it?

To be able to teleport – I would just use it to get around instead of having to travel. Which would be so helpful right now with my two hour commute to work from Glasgow.
