Mackie’s of Scotland see delicious growth in Asian market and widespread media coverage both in print and online
THE FAMILY-OWNED Scottish ice cream brand, Mackie’s of Scotland, became a media hit after reporting of its recent increase in exports and growth in the Asian market with the help of Food and Drink PR.
After seeing success in Taiwan and Korea, Mackie’s of Scotland is projecting a year-on-year increase in ice cream export sales, which are forecast to deliver £1m in revenue in 2018 for the Aberdeenshire-based firm.
Overcoming the challenges of exporting ice cream, Mackie’s ship the Asian orders via specialised 40-foot refrigerated containers which spend around six weeks on the open-seas, with a large container packed with over 20,000 litres of ice cream leaving the Mackie’s farm almost weekly.
We shared the story with the press and caught the attention of national and regional newspapers as well as industry-targeted publications.
Coverage highlights included:
- Prime national coverage in popular daily publications, The Herald, The Scotsman and The National
- Online hits on Scottish Field, BQ and Scottish Business News Network
- Coverage in local titles including The Press and Journal and the Aberdeen Evening Express
We reached a total of 430,488 people.
By gaining this impressive widespread coverage for Mackie’s, the ice cream brand stands out as a leader in both national and international food markets and highlights the continuing successful growth of the business.
