Music student’s classical performance is music to the media’s ears thanks to social care PR

A CARE HOME that received its very own musical performance from three Edinburgh College musicians stunned the media, thanks to social care PR experts.
NCS Collective performed a personalised concert to residents at Mansfield Care’s Pine Villa care home in Midlothian, after a teacher recommend the home to them.
The residents were treated to set list filled with songs that they had chosen, ranging from Disney anthems, The Beatles and the latest trending pop songs.
Our social care PR team told the story, delivering the following results:
- 16 items of coverage
- 162,145 opportunities to see
- Prime regional coverage in Midlothian Advertiser, The Edinburgh Reporter, North Edinburgh News and Edinburgh College website.
- Valuable trade coverage in The Carer
After a call with the performers, and finding out about the performance, we drafted a release and got in contact with some of the residents to find out how they enjoyed it.
Margaret Morton, resident at Pine Villa said: “It was lovely sitting in the sunshine listening to the music.
We targeted regional and local media, as the care home and performers are all based in Edinburgh, therefore engaging with the local community and introducing Mansfield Care to local families who could be looking for care services.
The coverage also has the potential to inspire other performers or volunteers to reach out to local care homes and connect with the elderly.
