Major Coverage for U.S. Kids Golf from Edinburgh PR Agency

THE golfing greats of tomorrow flocked to East Lothian this summer to take part in the U.S. Kids Golf European Championship.

9 JUN Edinburghnews.scotsman.comThe kids battled it out for Europe’s most prestigious junior title over five historic courses on Scotland’s Golf Coast and our Edinburgh PR agency made sure they grabbed the media coverage their fantastic play deserved.

A record breaking 619 of the world’s best junior golfers (some as young as five) travelled from 50 countries including Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Colombia, and as far away as Australia, to mark themselves down as ones to watch.

As with any sporting event, reaching the local area was important for generating spectator interest and the Edinburgh Evening News helped us to reach them, running the story both online and in print.

With an online readership of over ten thousand and a potential print readership of 30,100 across Edinburgh and the Lothians, this was fantastic coverage for the event grabbing the attention of locals and visitors and boosting crowds.

The tournament was also featured online at Golf East Lothian which, of course, reached our target audience raising the event’s profile in the most crucial areas.

After the tournament we made sure that the tournaments winners got their moment with a number of the local newspapers from their hometowns running the story of their success.

With winners from all over the UK, the story featured in titles in England, Scotland and Wales providing a far-reaching platform for the brand across three countries.

The story ran in the Yorkshire Post, Wales online and the Cambridge News and was featured in 8 other publications across England and Wales.

Golf365 online also ran the story of the youngsters achievements which has a circulation of more than 20,000 avid golf fans while The East Lothian Courier ran a story about the tournament’s success continuing their coverage and reaching  more than 30,000 people.
