Luxury hotel accommodates media success

Fraser Suites, Edinburgh Media Coverage

Fraser Suites hosts extensive media coverage thanks to hotel PR experts

A montage of coverage secured by Hotel PR agency for Fraser Suites following their launch

THE LAUNCH of a luxury boutique hotel in Edinburgh was certain to create some buzz for Fraser Suites on its newest venture – and our expert hotel PR team were on hand to make sure it went off with a bang.

Fraser Suites brought a slice of luxury living to Edinburgh when it took up residence on St Giles Street – perfect for those tourists who wanted to add a little more extravagance to their experience of Auld Reekie.

With the help of our hotel PR experts and some outstanding PR photography, we ensured that the launch proved a huge hit with the media, generating coverage which included:

  • Prime national coverage in Scotland on Sunday and The Scotsman
  • Newspaper coverage the most important local news outlet, the Edinburgh Evening News
  • Extensive digital coverage on international travel and hospitality related websites
  • Further exposure on Deadline News, one of the UK’s top 50- online news sites
  • Combined broadcast, print and online reach which created a huge 8.7 million opportunities to see (OTS) the story.

With its historic location in the heart of Edinburgh, many of its suites enjoy panoramic views to the Scott Monument, dedicated to legendary author Sir Walter Scott, and across Waverley railway station, named after one of his most famous novels.

So, it was fitting that the launch evening saw an homage to Sir Walter Scott, with and actor in full period costume playing the author and conducting tours for guests, while also giving readings and offering historical facts and titbits. The talented actor involved – renowned for his Sir Walter Scott re-enactments – was also sourced by our public relations experts.

Another superb touch which made the launch event so memorable was a clever nod to the building’s historic pedigree. The site was formerly home to one of Scotland’s earliest and most pioneering newspapers, The Edinburgh Courant, where editors included Robinson Crusoe author, Daniel Defoe.

We helped produce a special commemorative edition of the newspaper in the style of its 1880s heyday, but featuring amusing modern stories on topical issues including iPods, deep fired Mars Bars and Edinburgh’s controversial trams project.

Lucky guests on the night each received a commemorative copy of the newspaper, a tribute to the 250-year-edition of the Courant which was sourced from a specialist collector in the US and which was framed to take pride of place in the hotel lobby.

Our award-winning PR experts made sure that news of the launch spread far beyond the fortunate guests who were there on the night. Thanks to our extensive contact book and the creation of a detailed and vibrant media pack, the story was picked up by an extensive range of target titles.

That ensure that stories about the launch of Fraser Suites Edinburgh was put in front of exactly the right audiences – business travellers in Scotland and the UK and leisure travellers from across the globe – a huge number of potential guests.

What’s more, we also engineered important tie-ups with VisitScotland, Marketing Edinburgh and other groups responsible for putting the Scottish capital on the map and helping promote Edinburgh as a must visit for travellers in search of history and  luxury.
