PROCLAIMERS FAN WALKS 500 MILES – AND 500 MORE (Adrian)

With all the scandal and skulduggery in the news recently, it’s nice to know that there are still heart-warming stories out in the world. And this tale from China is certainly a display of dedication in the name of love. Chinese man Liu Peiwen is currently undertaking a 1000 trek across his homeland after being requested to by his fiancée – who is a massive Proclaimers fan. Yes, she’s taken the words “I would walk 500 miles…and I would walk 500 more” a bit too literally and has decided that the only way she’ll marry her sweetheart is if he actually does what the Reid brothers only claimed they would. Fair play to the chap for actually going along with it. Most of us would struggle to muster the energy to walk 500 metres for our significant others.

PIPPA, YOU’RE A CRUMPET (Pamela)

A woman with too much time on her hands has created a portrait of Pippa Middleton made entirely of crumpets.  The amazing double portrait, the first of her rear in that iconic bridesmaid dress and the other of her face, took 24 hours to complete and saw the artist and her team use a total of 15,000 crumpets.

WHEN TAXIDERMY GOES BAD (Laura)

This Facebook page shows what happens when the art of Taxidermy goes wrong with a gallery of images which show animals from domestic pets to wild animals looking nothing like their former selves. The page called Badly Stuffed Animals has attracted over 2,900 followers who add their own images to the page. Yet the humour of the images is missed by some with one follower finding the badly stuffed creatures creepy. Have a look through and tell us what you think – my favourite have to be the mouse finger puppets – genius!
