LIFE THROUGH A LENS – WORKING WITH A ‘ROCK STAR’ OF SCOTTISH PR PHOTOGRAPHY

Surely Your Business Deserves to Have Its Stories Told in Pictures by the Very Best in the PR photography Business?

Award winning PR photographer Wullie Marr

ANY STORY can be better told with the help of pictures.

This is something we repeat ad nauseam to the businesses we work with at Holyrood PR. Happily most take our advice and reap the many benefits that PR photography brings.

That’s where Wullie Marr, pictured above, comes in.

He is our photographer of choice whom we recommend for our clients to work with. When not taking on PR commissions from us and other renowned Scottish public relations agencies, Wullie plys his trade as the staff photographer with Deadline News.

Now his talents are being recognised and rewarded far more widely – after he was named Photographer of the Year in the 2016 Scottish Press Photography Awards.

What is even more remarkable is that Wullie also dominated two of the most fiercely contested categories – including an incredible clean sweep of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the ‘Politics’ award and the top two places in the ‘Arts and Entertainment’ section.

Wullie Marr, Scottish Press Photographer of the Year 2016The awards and accolades come as no surprise to the team at Holyrood PR, nor to our clients who have worked with Wullie on an incredibly diverse range of projects.

As well as being an outstanding technical expert, Wullie is a scholar, a gentleman and a pleasure to work with. He shows total dedication, endless patience and bottomless good-humour, even in the most testing circumstances.

Wullie prefers to let his pictures do the talking for him, so here are his winning shots from this year’s competition. They were chosen by an impressive panel of judges including Mark Sweeney (picture editor of the Scottish Sun), Campbell Ramage (deputy picture editor at the Scottish Daily Mail) and Alex Hewitt, an accomplished photographer who is now developing the photography matching service, findr.me.

Everyone at Holyrood PR offers the warmest congratulations to Wullie for his awards success. But we also want to promote his outstanding services to your business.

As well as building a positive media profile, outstanding business photography can be used again and again – on your website, sales material, brochures, social media channels and beyond.

We can testify first hand to the power of Wullie’s photography, since his skills helped us net a major PR photography award – after we worked together chronicling the business of  a wind farm client, involving 40 photoshoots across a year.

What if we told you great photography could actually make your brand or business more popular? Well, we’d urge you to read our blog post which shows how we measured the effectiveness of those pictures which provably improved the energy company’s positive media profile.

And don’t forget to check out the gallery of some of the striking images which Wullie captured to help tell the story of that wind energy business in an incredibly diverse, colourful and eyecatching way
