PROGRESSIVE use of assistive technology is being used to improve the quality of living for complex needs residents, and makes an impression on national media with help of Scottish PR Agency.
Plans for a new £28 million facility at Bertha Park in Perth has been drawn together by Capability Scotland as part of the ‘Our Inclusive Community Project’.
Working with smart home designer, Function Control, a concept apartment featuring innovative uses of technology was created to gain feedback from residents who are in line to move into the facility.
After hearing about Alan Kay, a resident at the current facility who has been trialling the tech, our PR experts knew his story would catch the eye of the media.
Securing an exclusive with STV News, interviews were arranged with Alan, his mum Wilma as well as Naomi Smith from Capability Scotland and Nick Laing from Function Control, to help portray the power of people, and to make an impact through sharing real life stories of lived experiences.
