One of Edinburgh’s well-established family law firms has been celebrating after receiving a high profile piece of media coverage in a national newspaper.
The Daily Express ran a story about how legal firm Gibson Kerr had set up a special divorce “hotline” to help advise couples feeling the strain at Christmas.
The move had been criticised by religious groups who said that it was helping to fuel a divorce culture in Scotland – although this was rebuked by legal partner Fiona Rasmusen. She said that the hotline would actually help people who were struggling to cope over Christmas and New Year, as they would not have to wait until January to talk about their problems and discuss the options open to them.
