Legal PR experts tell dynamic firm’s award nominations
A LEADING Fife firm has lost out in its attempt to win Scotland’s top legal award.
The PSM Law Group, which has its head office in Dunfermline’s High Street and its Hunters-psm property centre based in the town’s Bonar Street, was a finalist in the prestigious Firm of the Year category in the RJ Cuthbert Associates Scottish Legal Awards.
But Glasgow firm Biggart Baillie pipped the company for the top prize when the awards were announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on Friday (Feb 6). The PSM Law Group was also nominated in Best Legal Website category, but again had to be content with a runners-up slot after the prize went to international law firm Masons.
Michael Maloco, co-founder and vice chief executive of the PSM Law Group, said while the results were a disappointment, there was much for the company to be proud about.
He said: “To be nominated in two of the categories, in particular the much sought-after Firm of the Year category, the blue riband award, is alone a great triumph for our company. Last year, we won the specialist Innovation and Technology Award, so the fact that we were in the running for the Firm of the Year, shows the progress we’ve made.
“In the past few years, our company’s reputation has grown far and wide and for us to now be mentioned on the same level as some of the Edinburgh and Glasgow legal heavyweights is a great achievement for us.”
The PSM Law Group attributes its success and the rapid growth to its philosophy of building a dynamic legal practice combining the best of traditional values with modern business solutions.
