The expert lawyers warn couple caught up in battles over possessions during a divorce to seek legal advice to avoid a possible drawn out battle over the custody of family pets.

Under the heading “Pets are left in the doghouse after couples separate” Gibson Kerr are quoted to say couples should enter into pre-nuptial agreements to ease any problems.

Fiona Rasmusen is quoted to say: “If they have an expensive or valued pet, then a prenuptial agreement is an option.”

The full article can be found on the Edinburgh Evening News website and was the result of a sustained public relations campaign by Holyrood PR PR in Scotland.
