Gilson Gray joins forces with specialist firm to expand its full-service offering
GILSON Gray has once again underlined its commitment to strategic business growth by acquiring a Glasgow-based specialist licensing firm.
The multi award-winning firm has taken over Millar Campbell Solicitors, including the transfer of Joanna Millar as Legal Director and Laura Campbell as Solicitor.
Specialising in advice and training for the licensed trade, including commercial property and corporate work, the team from Millar Campbell will bring a brand-new area of sector expertise to Gilson Gray’s full-service offering.
The former Millar Campbell team – who will be bringing their entire client portfolio – will be based in Gilson Gray’s Real Estate division in Glasgow.
Joanna said: “We are delighted to be part of Gilson Gray and look forward to working with such a progressive team.”
Derek Hamill, Head of Gilson Gray’s Glasgow office, said: “Our philosophy is to grow Gilson Gray by recruiting the best legal talent.
“The transfer of the Millar Campbell team, with over 40 years’ experience between them is fantastic for all of our clients. We increase our service offering, grow our team in Glasgow and add licensing expertise to our real estate and commercial property teams.”
Murray Stewart, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Gilson Gray, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jo, Laura and their team to Gilson Gray which further strengthens our real estate offering and, in particular, enhances the services we are able to provide clients in the hospitality and leisure sectors.
“Jo and Laura both come with fantastic reputations and I’m looking forward to working with them to identify further opportunities to develop and grow our business.”
Deemed one of the most ambitious launches in Scottish legal history, Gilson Gray was formed just five years ago and has rapidly risen to be one of Scotland’s most prominent law firms.
It has grown to around 150 staff across offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and North Berwick by tactical expansion, key appointments and an ethos of creating the very best place to work in Scottish law.
Managing Partner Glen Gilson is known as one of the leading figures in Scottish law and has been recognised as Managing Partner of the Year twice in the past five years.
