TENANTS at a retirement housing development in the Scottish Borders have had their kitchens given a new lease of life.
Bield’s Turnbull Court in Duns has seen its tenants’ kitchens undergo a major revamp, turning dated designs into modern living spaces.
The project, which was undertaken by the Response Building Maintenance Ltd, was carried out as part of Bield’s annual programme of Kitchen Replacement works.
With each individual being given the chance to choose a design to suit them, the renovation of the kitchens has been a resounding success with tenants and staff alike.
Tracy Brotherston, Retirement Housing Manager at Turnbull Court, said: “Before the project began, the kitchens were dated and in need of a good freshen up.
“Tenants were given a choice of different colour schemes and styles, ranging from clean whites to wood designs.
“The Response Team has done a fantastic job in making the kitchens more accessible for tenants and bringing a bit of life back into them.
“The feedback has been excellent – tenants are over the moon with the results.”
With feedback covering the increase in storage space to the light, airy feel of the kitchens, tenants throughout Turnbull Court have been more than satisfied with the results.
Two of these happy tenants are Margaret Nairn and her husband Billy who believe the revamp was highly beneficial.
They said: “We are highly delighted by the new kitchen fitted by Bield. It is a great asset and well thought out for storage and convenience.
“We are very impressed with the workmen and the way the job was carried out. A big thank you from us to all involved.”
Located in Duns in the Scottish Borders, Turnbull Court provides 46 properties for people aged 50 and over who wish retain their independence while leaving maintenance worries behind.
