School Kids Design Dream Bedroom with CALA Homes

Cala Homes Press releases

Law Gardens, North Berwick- Scottish PR StoryCREATIVE PUPILS at a school in East Lothian are being given the chance to see their dream bedroom brought to life thanks to an upmarket homebuilder.

Following a presentation from CALA Homes (East) along with interior designer Carol Yates, children in P6 and P7 at West Barns Primary School were asked to design the ultimate kids bedroom.

As part of a competition that will see the winner’s creation form the design of an actual bedroom in the new showhome at Castle Bay, the children have been letting their imaginations run wild designing bedrooms full of exciting features and bright colours.

The winning mood board will be transformed into the perfect children’s bedroom by Carol Yates, an established interior designer with more than 25 years’ experience specialising in bespoke interiors for her clients.

Carol Yates, Owner of Carol Yates Design, said: “The competition with West Barns Primary is a great experience for the children to express their artistic sides by designing these bedrooms.

“When we gave our presentation to the school all the kids seemed excited to get involved. The children quickly got to work and some of the ideas and themes they were suggesting and developing were great- plenty of originality!

“The enthusiasm they had for the project was great to see and I can’t wait to review the mood boards and announce the winning creations.”

Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director at CALA Homes (East), said: “It is great to see the children at West Barns Primary getting so involved with this project and expressing their artistic creativity in this way.

“At CALA Homes we are always keen to work with the schools in the local areas to our developments, so following the green light at Castle Bay it was important for us to reach out to West Barns Primary.

“To be able to foster young talent by running this competition is something we really value and to have the winner see their work transformed into an actual bedroom is just fantastic. I am sure that the winning design will be an excellent addition to the showhome at Castle Bay.”

Both Carol and the marketing team with CALA Homes (East) will now determine the most creative contribution, presenting to the class in the coming weeks.

The winning bedroom will then be unveiled in a matter of weeks, at the opening of the first showhome at CALA Homes’ nearby Castle Bay development.
