Powerful PR photography is crucial for businesses, with the right images making a dramatic impact on success. As part of our PICTURE PERFECT series of posts, our award winning public relations agency explains how quality pictures drive media coverage, website success and social media buzz.
Care specialist Bield proves age is no barrier to successful public relations photos
THERE is no age limit on being able to light up a photograph.
While fashion magazines and adverts may be full of airbrushed photos of, young, stick-thin models, real people never tire of reading stories about people they can really relate to.
Which means photos of ordinary, everyday folk will never go out of fashion, as Bield has proven at its care homes and retirement housing developments across Scotland. We’ve helped Bield to tell the stories of the characterful older people who use its services (see the short video, below).
They included Meg Melvin, who happily posed for pictures with her celebration cake and party hat when she reached the remarkable landmark of her 108th birthday. Those pictures featured Meg’s relatives as well as dedicated members of staff at Bield’s Dundas Court in Glasgow and achieved extensive media coverage.
Likewise we were on hand to celebrate with a couple of other centenarians. Doris Turnbull and Julia Baird are neighbours at Bield’s Church Court in Dumbarton. Both turned 100 just days apart.
Pictures of the smiling pair helped their story be told to the widest possible audience, including being shared across social media by friends and relatives.
Elsewhere, our photographers were on hand to capture images of Bield residents enjoying Olympic-themed sport day as part of its Fife Flexicare service, and sharing football memories of yesteryear during a special reminiscence group set up at Haugh Street care home in Edinburgh.
Bield has been so impressed with the success of photography, it has also embraced our video services and we have captured footage of life within various care services, including gardening projects, pampering sessions involving residents and a wide range of videos from staff explaining the many rewards of their jobs.
