Edinburgh’s premier Italian wine bar, is offering wine lovers the chance to sample a plethora of Italy’s fine and rare wines with their new range of wine flights.
Divino Enoteca located in the heart of the city’s Old Town, launched their selection of wine flights earlier this month, allowing customers to sample fine wines by the glass.
Based around the concept of traditional enotecas found in rural Italy, the wine menu at Divino provides a one stop tour of some of Italy’s renowned wine growing regions and wine lovers can sample famous wines such as Barolo, Amarone and Brunello.
Now with the introduction of wine flights, customers can pick and choose samples of wines, allowing them to make a more informed choice about the wine they are selecting and ensure they find the one they enjoy before committing to buying a bottle.
Thanks to Enomatic wine dispensing technology – a Scotland first – Divino Enoteca is able to preserve the flavour and body of the wine and offer samples to customers, knowing that the quality of the wine remains the same for every serve.
Wine lovers can choose from six different wine flights, which provide a selection of the venues top Italian white and red wines, as well as range of top international white wines. There is also a sparkling flight available which features some of the world’s finest champagnes and sparkling wines.
Each wine flight contains five different wines and can be bought in a 25ml or 50ml sample packages starting from £6.50 to £46.80. Each flight also features information about the wines, including grape variety, winery and place of origin.
A little taste of Italy in the heart of Edinburgh
Owner Tony Crolla said: “The concept behind Divino Enoteca is about creating the atmosphere and authenticity of the Italian Enoteca, which encourages customers to sample different wines, broadening their wine knowledge and allowing them to enjoy it responsibly.
“In order to take Divino back to its roots, we turned to the wine flights, which now allow customers to sample the wines we have on offer. Customers can now try several different wines; they might not otherwise have tried and then compare them with others on the menu, allowing them to make more informed wine choices in future.
“So far we have had a fantastic response to the wine flights as they really give people the chance to try fine wine as well as little known vintages, at a fraction of the price a bottle or even a glass would cost.”
Divino Enoteca has also introduced a series of antipasti and dinner packages, designed to complement to wine flights on offer. Starting at just £20 per person the packages offer anything from authentic Italian antipasti to traditional Italian four course meals.
Combined with the wine flights, the food packages offer the perfect setting for a host of wine tasting and corporate events and can take place in Divino’s private tasting room or warm atmosphere of the main bar area.
