Exciting and fast-growing support firm announces expansion ambitions, helped by tech PR experts

ONE OF Scotland’s biggest established independent IT support firms has launched a new business strategy which looks to merge with IT companies in the West of Scotland.

Euro Business Solutions (EBS) is on the search for businesses in Glasgow which are looking to expand their business model and become a part of a national IT support agency.

Under the proposed strategy, small to medium IT and communications companies in the Glasgow area will have the opportunity to join up with the team at EBS and become a central part of their expansion, which will see the firm turnover £2million in the next 2 years.

After completing successful mergers with Eve Networks in 2009 and then with InteractIT earlier this year, the firm is taking its search to other areas of Scotland to enable them to offer a bigger and better service to their clients and push their acquisition drive.

Founders Alex Donaldson and Robert Bell have so far garnered a fantastic reputation across the central belt of Scotland and have an impressive roster of 120 clients, which include Hibernian FC and Edinburgh International Conference Centre, as well as architects, legal firms, medical technology experts and charities.

Director Alex said: “This is an exciting time for us at Euro Business Solutions, as we look to expand our business further, through acquiring a series of like-minded IT support business who share our aims and ambitions.

“We have a strong presence across the Central Belt of Scotland and have wanted to recreate this in Glasgow for several years now.

“After securing the merger with Interact IT – a move which underlines how years of investment in our staff, resources and infrastructure has really paid off – we now have a very secure scalable operation.

As part of the ongoing business acquisition strategy, Alex and Bob are hoping to secure around three to four similar IT companies over the next two years, which will allow them to secure a further 100 clients, increase their revenue to £2million a year and expand across Scotland and the UK.

Bob added: “Many IT companies are struggling as a result of the recession. This kind of acquisition program could be the perfect way for us to protect our position in the market, while giving smaller operators a secure, long-term future.

“We now have a proven template for smoothly absorbing other businesses. We take positive aspects from each of the companies and integrate them into our own operations, making us a stronger and more diverse company in the long run.

“As well as creating the benefits of a larger and stronger business with the experience of some of the best companies in the field,  our aim is to maintain the personal service usually found only in smaller establishments. Our customers are valued and central to our business and we want to reflect this in the way we respond to their needs and requirements.”

The firm’s primary area of work is providing Server and PC maintenance and building and supporting computer networks for business clients. It also operates PCHires.com providing short term rental of all IT equipment and large format displays to business users.

Bob added:  “Eve Networks was our first real experience of the acquisition process and the whole process took several months to complete, yet once in place it brought untold benefits to the company.

“Now we are looking further afield in the rest of Scotland and into Northern England, enabling us to strengthen our brand.”
