UWI label

Local PR for Edinburgh Inventor

An edinburgh inventor has recieved great news after recieving a funding boost from a scottish investment bank to help his invention go further.

The UWI label, headed up by Edinburgh-based Pete Higgins, has been given a bright future thanks to a £250,000 investment from the Scottish Investment Bank through its Scottish seed fund.

Kerry Sharp, acting head of the Scottish Investment Bank said: “Scotland continues to produce innovative new technologies with global appeal and the UWI Label is the latest example of an ambitious early stage start-up company with significant potential across a wide range of industry sectors.

“We are pleased to be supporting the technology through our Scottish SEED Fund which is designed to support the development of Scotland’s private sector SME funding market to ensure that early stage businesses with growth and export potential have adequate access to growth capital

The UWI Label’s game changing potential has long been recognised by Scottish Enterprise which has provided financial and practical support to the firm from the outset, with previous innovation funding and support from Scottish Development International – Scottish Enterprise’s international arm.

This coverage was secured with the Edinburgh Evening News as part of a sustained PR campaign carried out by Holyrood PR on behalf of UWI label.
