A woman who lost both her legs after years of ill-health has hit the headlines after a move to a Bupa care home helped here rebuild her life.

Pat Brezney, 63, was devastated when decades of health complications resulted in both her legs being amputated.

However, she says a move into Bupa’s Highgate Care Home in Glasgow helped her start the painstaking process of getting her life back on track.

Now her inspirational story has seen Pat awarded the Care Home Resident Achievement Award at the 2014 Scottish Care – National Care Home Awards, which recognised her determination to lead a normal life.
